How do I become an EMT in South Carolina
At RC Health Services EMS Academy, we offer top-tier EMT classes designed to provide a direct pathway to NREMT certification for students across South Carolina. Our online EMT courses offer the flexibility you need to study at your own pace, making them ideal for those balancing work, life, and education. For the required hands-on skills training, South Carolina students can attend sessions at our nearest offices—either in Charlotte, NC, or at one of our two Atlanta-area locations in Stockbridge or Acworth, GA—ensuring convenient access to the practical experience needed for certification.
While we are not approved for state licensure in South Carolina, students can still earn their NREMT certification and subsequently apply for their state license through reciprocity. Our comprehensive EMT program combines the convenience of online learning with critical in-person skills training, led by experienced instructors. What is EMT-Basic course?
The EMT-Basic course is designed to train individuals in skills and knowledge necessary to complete the National Registry EMT examination and to achieve certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.

How does it work?
Complete the Didactic Portion online
Work at your own pace! The student has six months from the day they start to complete all aspects of the course. The student will spend 140 hours completing the didactic portion online at their own pace.
Complete the hands-on Skills Days
Each student will complete two skills practice days and at least one National Registry Skills Testing Day. These days are posted in advance to accommodate our students' schedules.
Complete the Clinical Rotations
RC Health Services clinical rotations are provided via several major hospitals and Municipal 911 EMS agencies throughout the United States. Students will complete 48 hours of EMS time with at least 6 patient transports, and 24 hours of Emergency Department time.
